The Quarantine Questionnaire: Jimmie Lewis

jimmie-lewis-02Who are you and are you in a band or do you perform solo? If in a band(s), what is the name of that band?

Hello, My name is Jimmie Lewis and I run a solo project called NFOE. I got my start in the music scene by playing guitar, xylophone, and drums for Andy Warpigs. Eventually we formed another project with Bryan Preston and David Giiron called The POC.

What instrument(s) do you play?

I play guitar, bass, drums, piano, synthesizers, xylophone, cello, and harmonica.

How long have you been making music? And what first drew you to your craft?

I have been making music for about seven years now. When I was 5 I got a little toy drum set for my birthday and managed to destroy the heads on it the with a few days, ever since then I have had an affinity for rhythm.

What was your favorite show of all the shows you’ve ever played?

When in your in two different bands the same time, sometimes playing twice in one night, some of it starts to blur together but one that stands out was playing at Full Moon Festival. We got to play a lot of anti-authoritarian music really loud directly across the street from the Sheriff’s office.

What are you listening to during this period of social distancing?

I have been mainly listening to a lot of fusion, funk rock records, and sometimes some psychedelic progression finds its way into the rotation.

What else are you doing with these extra hours at home? Extra creative time?

I have been recording a lot of music, nothing too out of the ordinary, I guess I just have more time to be patient with making new music.

If you could Facetime/Skype anyone in the world for an extended convo right now, who would it be?

Hmmm… I would definitely want to see what Buckethead is up to.

Favorite food you can make at home?

Pork chops with sweet potato curry.

Are you currently working on any new musical projects? If so, what?

I have three records I’m going to release by the end of the year, none with working titles so I’m forced to keep you in suspense.

How can folx support your musical endeavors? Can people check out or purchase your work online? What other options might be available?

You can let us know you like what you hear by liking our Facebook page or following us on Bandcamp and Spotify!!
