Frank Ippolito Answers the YabYum Seven

We at YabYum have a tradition here. All our writers have to tackle the YabYum Seven once they make that illustrious jump from “contributing writer” to “staff writer”. We are super excited to announce that newest writer Frank Ippolito is ready to make the transition. Frank is a person authentically interested in the art and activities happening around him and that passion carries through to his work. We’re thrilled to announce his addition to our hard-working team of localista art junkies. Oh, and you should totally check out his sweet band too.

1. Who are you and what do you do?

Nice of you to ask. I’m Frank Ippolito. Advertising copywriter, writer of fine articles for Yab Yum, guitarist in The lovelost – not necessarily in that order.

2. How did you get your start?

Wise-cracking came naturally to me, just ask my mother, so advertising was a given. Writing articles, poems, novelettes, and music is more of a craft to me.

3. What inspires you?

Good stories. In film, music and literature – and in dive bars.

4. What do you like about Arizona?

Other than the triple digits in the summer?

5. Where can we see you(r) work?

My writing can be read here in Yab Yum, champion of local music and arts and the music can be found on The lovelost facebook page (here).

6. What would you like to accomplish before you die?

Write the great American novel completely in iambic pentameter.

7. What’s your mantra?

Do what you have to, to do what you love.
